Parts of Hull will form the backdrop to Series 6 of Netflix’s The Crown.

Locations, including Hull Guildhall, were transformed into 1940s Britain as part of a VE Day celebration storyline for the drama.

Images of the actresses playing Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret suggest it will show the pair heading out into London to join parties at the end of the Second World War. The true story was the basis for the 2015 film A Royal Night Out.

Hull may also be the location for filming around the 1947 Royal wedding.
