Hop&Co. has added Birkenhead food brand MJ’s Diner to its expanding B2C client roster.
MJ’s claims to offer the UK’s first air-fryer-ready meal range, including 14 frozen ready meals specifically developed for the air fryer – ‘fakeaways’ such as Salt and Pepper Chicken, Katsu Chicken Curry, Kebab, and chip-shop favourites such as Steak Pie and Sausages, Chips and Gravy, with at least a further five new products on the way.
Hop&Co. is supporting MJ’s Diner with its first-to-market launch of air-fryer-ready meals to British consumers. The company is owned by 50-year-old Noel Davis who lives in Formby and has over 30 years of experience in food manufacturing and distribution across several different businesses. His ingenious idea for a range of air-fryer-ready meals was sparked over a meal with his three children, coupled with the proven popularity of air fryers as a kitchen staple and his industry knowledge and know-how. The idea is to help those who are time-poor and want something that won’t blow their calorie count but is a quick, tasty, and cheap option for an evening meal or breakfast.
The frozen meals are priced between just £1.99 and £2.49 and are currently available in Farmfoods, Davis’ own Oops Food Clearance in St Helens, over 300 independent retailers nationwide, and about to hit the shelves in Poundland, Noel is also in talks with the likes of Home Bargains, Morrisons, and Sainsbury’s to supply the air fryer-ready meals.
Hop’s MD, Becks Wiper, previously worked with Davis on the launch of his Oops discount supermarkets back in 2020
She said: “Sometimes it’s just about timing. I happened to check in with Noel and by chance he needed PR and marketing, and he needed it now. We have reacted very quickly, and we’re already seeing media coverage land, influencers engage, and meals sold.
“It is always such a buzz to welcome back an old client and with such exciting news – it is no surprise to me that Noel is leading the way when it comes to innovative meal solutions for British households. First, he brought us Oops and now it’s air fryer ready meals.
“All of team Hop has tried the range, and we have to say they’re super tasty and what’s more, so quick and easy! We can’t wait to see more noise around these products in the coming weeks.”
Davis, added: “Having worked with Becks and her team before, it was a no-brainer to partner with her again. The agency has real expertise in food and drink marketing, and I feel like I am in very safe hands.
“They understood the products and what I wanted for the launch really quickly, and seeing results fly in already is just fantastic. Being a ‘first to market’ product speed is everything, and Hop&Co. has moved at pace. I hope individuals and families across the UK try our range and enjoy saving time, pennies, and calories.”
