Tributes have been paid to Frankie Hough, who died in a motorway crash.

The actress, who was 18 weeks pregnant, was in the car with her 2 young sons and nephew, when the accident took place.

According to reports she’d stopped on the hard shoulder of the M66 in Bury to take a phone call. An air ambulance transported Hough and the children to hospital, but she died 2 days later.

Adil Iqbal, who comes from Accrington has admitted causing death by dangerous driving and will be sentenced next month.

A GoFundMe page set up by a friend to raise money for the family has raised £52,530 so far.

A statement from her family said:

“Thank you so much for the beautiful comments and all your kind donations we are overwhelmed with the support, we have no words for your kindness at this time.

“Our page will go towards the families effected and our boys recovery. We can hopefully give Tommy, Tobias & Rocky life changing experiences when they recover and help build back our family in memory of our angel Franki.”

Hough appeared in Wire in the Blood, Where The Heart is, Heartbeat and Merseybeat, she also played Jess Holt in Lime Pictures’ Hollyoaks.

Paul Danan, who plays Sol in the soap wrote on Instagram:

“This wonderful actress played the character ‘Jess’ alongside me for nearly 4 years in Hollyoaks […] and i adored her. I feel so lost right now.

He added:

“My heart and prayers goes out to them and the husband who g-d knows how he’s coping right now and also her adorable sister’s and parents. May we all come together and do what we can to help and support u. I am truly devastated and hurting more than u know.”
