The Express has published its first dedicated “.com” site in America.

The Reach title is led by US Editor, Karl Holbrook, the former Editor of The Northern Echo and Lancashire Telegraph.

It’s being put together by a “launch team” of 50 UK-based journalists from Express UK and other titles, who’ve been seconded to work out of Reach’s New York offices.

“It’s brilliant to see all of the team’s hard work resulting in this important milestone,” said Group Editor-in-Chief Lloyd Embley.

“With its proudly mainstream news agenda, including covering the worlds of showbiz, royals, TV, tech, travel and sport as well as centre-right politics, we know there’s a huge appetite for Express content in the US. We are excited about meeting this need and growing a significant new audience.”

Stories from its first online edition include exclusive interviews with former National Security Advisor John Bolton and astronaut Chris Hadfield. There are also comment pieces from former Ronald Reagan staffer Peggy Grande.

Reach said that it was undertaking ongoing editorial recruitment, but now focusing on American candidates.
