The North East’s online, high-end men’s fashion store END. Clothing is continuing its expansion into the physical world with the opening of a new store on the site of Manchester’s former Paperchase shop on St Mary’s Gate.
The site has been empty since the stationary retailer went into administration in 2020, and now instead of the cut price ribbon and greetings cards that used to greet you in the two story unit you’ll find design cues in premium marble, concrete, stainless steel, glass, mirror and maple which both nod to the etailer-turned-retailer’s exisitng stores in Newcastle (x2), Glasgow and London and “pay homage to [Manchester’s] rich connection to cotton and textiles.”
The ground floor of the new store houses END’s contemporary menswear brands including Carhartt, Gucci and Balenciaga, alongside a wellbeing section housing premium skincare, fragrance and cosmetic products.
The first floor will be home to END’s largest sneaker offering to date alongside a wide array of luxury, streetwear and skate labels, and a dedicated events space.
END. Clothing CEO Parker Gundersen said: “Manchester has been high on our list for a long time. We have a very strong community here already who have been asking us to build a physical store for many years. When we finally found this building, we knew we had an amazing space that would allow us to create a concept that would match the high expectations of both our customers and brand partners. To finally see the finished product has been really thrilling for our team and I’m so proud of what they have achieved.”
Looking further ahead, the brand aims to open both its first women’s store, in Newcastle, and its first international branch, in Milan, by the end of this year.
