Liverpool-based comedy, G’wed is to return for 2 more series.
The Golden Path production became a standout hit for ITV becoming ITVX’s biggest sitcom launch since Changing Ends in 2020 and ITV2’s second most popular show after Love Island.
Written by Danny Kenny, filming for series 2 begins this summer across the Liverpool City Region.
“Comedy really is back in the building. There was so much love for G’wed from audiences far and wide,” said Mario Stylianides, Executive Producer at Golden Path Productions.
“It’s great that we’ll get the chance to spend even more time exploring the joyful complicated lives of our Scouse characters.”
Returning characters include Reece (Dylan Thomas-Smith), Christopher (Jake Kenny-Byrne), Connor (Max Ainsworth), Ted (Dominic Murphy), Mo (Zak Douglas), Aimee (Amber Harrison) and Mia-Louise (Gemma Barraclough).
“It is great to see that G’wed has resonated with our audiences across ITVX, ITV1 and ITV2!” added Nana Hughes, Head of Comedy ITV.
“Danny Kenny’s writing had us crying with laughter one second, crying real tears the next and then back to laughter. And the hugely talented cast brought so much charm and cheek to the show, we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to Liverpool for a second and third series when G’wed returns in 2025.”
The location filming has been supported by Liverpool Film Office.
