Fast-growing Cheshire ecommerce investor, BrandBuildr Group, has acquired 50 per cent of TikTok agency, Motion, for an undisclosed sum.
Manchester-based Motion has a team of five and offers organic and influencer services to TikTok users, which it claims deliver not just views but tangible revenue.
BrandBuildr was created in 2018 by serial entrepreneur husband-and-wife team Danny and Amy Buck. Buck and Brandbuildr have previously invested in companies including Honu and CRAFTD London, generating an estimated revenue of £17.6m in the process. Buck was also a co-founder of the Rita Ora-approved affordable watch brand Circulr.
Buck recently told Prolific North that he expects Brandbuildr’s revenue to exceed £20m in the next financial year, and the company was named the UK’s 15th fastest growing company by the Sunday Times after achieving over 135 per cent growth in the three years from its 2018 formation.
Buck said of his latest venture: “I’ve had itchy feet to start looking at the client world again, but more importantly I want to protect the future of our brands. I feel that the world of TikTok presents so many opportunities for growth while other channels are declining. Bringing InMotion into the BrandBuildr ecosystem gives us exciting possibilities.”
Jordan Evans, MD of Motion added: “[Danny’s] experience in the eCommerce space will help us to level up our game for our clients by sharing his insights into the industry along with his knowledge from scaling his previous agency. TikTok is an exciting platform to be mastering as brands are starting to realise the potential it presents with high organic reach, low relative advertising costs and live shopping features. With the investment from Brandbuildr we intend to accelerate the growth of our agency and generate results for some of the worlds top eCom brands.”
