eThe BBC has commissioned a 3-part documentary following Greater Manchester Police’s public protection unit.

This is a new division set up to deal with child protection, domestic abuse and safeguarding vulnerable adults.

Made by Minnow Films, which was behind 7/7: One Day in London and Walking Wounded: Return to the Frontline, it will have unprecedented access to staff and detectives as they work through their cases.

The 3 x hour-long programmes will broadcast on BBC Two in 2014.

They were ordered by Charlotte Moore, the BBC’s commissioning editor for documentaries and will be executive produced by Morgan Matthews and Ruth Kelly from Minnow alongside the BBC’s Emma Willis.
