The Leeds team of Golley Slater PR have been appointed to handle consumer and corporate communications for high street name, Poundstretcher
Following a competitive four-way pitch process, Golley Slater has been tasked with raising the profile of the discount retailer and its consumer offering that includes branded food and toiletry goods, home and textiles, pet and seasonal ranges.
The agency will work closely with the internal marketing team at Poundstretcher.
MD Eileen Stretton said the contract had been ‘a great end to a busy new business year.’
“It’s another brand that fits well with our business model as, in addition to the national capability of our locally based team, the client has the unique opportunity to use the Golley Slater regional network, meaning marketing experts can be close to their stores wherever they are across the UK.”
Recently appointed managing director of Poundstretcher, Ian York was closely involved in the agency selection process. He said: “This is a very exciting time for our growing business and so we needed to switch our communication support to a strong agency with proven national credentials.”
Golley Slater PR North evolved the business in 2014 with Eileen Stretton’s appointment in November 2013 and a change of strategy, a team restructure and office relocation to the new One Aire Street development within the building of Leeds Rail Station.
Clients include Land Securities (Trinity Leeds & White Rose), Thai Leisure Group and projects for GO Outdoors.
