Manchester-based Purple Riot has been appointed to handle media relations, influencer marketing and digital PR for a newly launched gifting concept, countdown calendars.

The PR agency has been selected by SevenYays, creators of the countdown calendar, a customisable product allowing consumers to provide a week-long gifting experience. The concept is based on advent calendars and each one features a carefully curated selection of luxury gifts behind seven doors.

SevenYays is based in Walkden, Greater Manchester, and offers more than 130 choices for present-givers – including gins, beauty items, socks, books, and tech items. Bespoke and ready-made options are also available from the seller, which launched the brand earlier this month.

Purple Riot was appointed to launch SevenYays after a competitive pitch. Nikki Kitchen, MD of Purple Riot, said: “These gorgeous deliveries provide celebrations around any occasion, with a concept that could revolutionise gifting. Birthday weeks and hen weeks are becoming all the more popular, with limits on travel and celebrations; SevenYays means we can all make our loved ones feel special during the uncertainty that we’ve all faced over the last year and beyond.

“The brand launched on 1st June, and we have already secured a number of national and regional press opportunities. By combining targeted traditional media relations, influencer marketing, and digital PR, we’ll be building the brand and driving consumers to the website. This is a great project to add to our retail portfolio.”

Charlotte Staal of SevenYays added: “We loved the positive and enthusiastic approach from Purple Riot. Their retail expertise really impressed us, but they also demonstrated a genuine passion for the products and concept. We’re already seeing fantastic results with national press coverage and high-profile influencers sharing our content.”
