Gary Barlow took to the banks of the River Irwell in Manchester to film an ad campaign for Comparethemarket.com.
The Take That singer stars alongside Aleksandr Orlov, the fictional meerkat owner of Comparethemeerkat.com, in a 30-second advert to be shown between two episodes of Coronation Street on ITV tonight.
The price comparison website has sponsored the soap since 2012, when it signed a £30million, three-year deal.
In the ad, Barlow is approached by Orlov and asked if he will perform with his meerkat at a Coronation Street party.
London agency VCCP Blue created the latest ad, which was written by Javier Romartinex, art directed by Stephen Misir and directed by Darren Walsh through Passion Pictures.
ZenithOptimedia handled the media buying and planning.
Barlow said: “Aleksandr approached me for an unusual request – watch this space to see happens.”
