Foster appointed editor of Chronicle Live

Gavin Foster has been appointed editor of Reach’s Newcastle-based Chronicle Live – which he willl run in conjunction with the Sunderland Live and Durham Live titles.

Foster, who was poached from JPIMedia’s Sunderland Echo six months ago, tweeted: “Thrilled to be appointed editor [of Chronicle Live] and excited to get the chance to lead such a talented and committed team of journalists.

“Will still oversee Sunderland Live and Durham Live, which have made a fantastic impact in their first six months.”

Chronicle Live is the online presence for daily newspapers The Chronicle and The Journal.Meanwhile, Leeds Live publisher Matt Millington has stepped down from his role after two-and-a-half years.

He tweeted: “Just a note to say it’s been a big few days, as I’ve now said goodbye to my role at Reach.

“The journey as publisher for LeedsLive has been incredible, leading an amazing team to see our audience grow and grow. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen.”

In reply, Reach Regionals audience and content director Ed Walker wrote: “Good luck with whatever comes next Matt. You have the most exceptional video and visual storytelling skills of anyone I’ve ever worked with.

“Take care of yourself and always be proud of what you and team did at Leeds Live.”

Millington’s successor has not yet been announced.
