Former Made in Leeds news boss heads up Leeds Live

Trinity Mirror has revealed the new team which will be producing its Leeds Live digital operation.

The publisher launched the title in November 2017, under the guidance of Huddersfield Examiner editor, Wayne Ankers and Ed Walker, Trinity Mirror Regionals digital editor.

It’s now employing a team of 6, which will be working across news, sport, food and drink, and entertainment in the city centre.

Publisher, Matt Millington is a former news agency reporter, before he joined Made in Leeds. There he rose through the ranks to become head of news and current affairs.

Life-long Leeds fan, Joe Mewis has been named Leeds United editor, having previously been on the Mirror football desk at Canary Wharf.

Former Reading and Guildford journalist, Nathan Hyde, has been appointed as live news reporter, as has Kristian Johnson.

Craig Jones is the publication’s What’s On writer. He moves over from Hull Daily Mail, where he was What’s On editor.

Finally, Beren Cross joins from The Herald in Plymouth as digital sports writer.
