Former Journey Further VP launches new consultancy

Will Anderson, former VP of growth at Journey Further and ecommerce entrepreneur, has launched Growth Society – a new-wave growth and performance marketing consultancy for SMEs.

Growth Society allows SMEs to connect with expert digital talent through flexible contracts and transparent commercials, aligned to a focused strategy crafted by a team of industry-leading advisors.

The collective operating model allows brands to tap into the talent required to evolve their digital strategy and test new channels, without the burden of siloed agency relationships or the challenge of hiring and retaining an in-house team.

Anderson led the business development function at performance marketing agency Journey Further for over seven years, working with brands like Barbour, TSB, Liberty London and many others, and helping scale the agency from three founders to 200 specialists across the UK & US. He departed the agency over the summer.

He has also founded and exited two ecommerce businesses, including the shaving brand Barbarossa Brothers.

Growth Society’s core advisory team comprises: Amy Bott, former marketing director at Gymshark; Jamie White, former group head of organic search at Connective3; Chris Nightingale – former marketing lead at AO.com, and Emma Ashby, former head of programmatic & paid social at Epiphany.

Growth Society founder Anderson said: “Having seen first-hand what it takes to scale a business and help others do the same, it’s clear that the old methods don’t suit the new context. Today’s digital complexity and economic constraints can only be navigated if you have a focused growth strategy and flexible access to the best talent. We want to reduce the pain of costly pitch processes and misaligned partnerships, helping brands, agencies and freelancers focus on delivering their best work.”
