Alex Duthie, the former Managing Director of digital marketing agency, Custard, has joined House Digital.
He takes up the role of Head of Strategy at the company, which has recently expanded by adding a Manchester office to its rural base in Burscough, Lancashire.
“House Digital’s success story is truly inspiring, and I’m honoured to be joining such a talented and ambitious team. I look forward to crafting strategies that not only meet but exceed our clients’ goals, driving both their success and ours,” he stated.
Duthie was MD at Custard in 2023, when it was acquired by Anything Is Possible. The London agency said that the move gave it a foothold in the North and it saw Duthie move into the Head of Organic role. He was also responsible for leading the Manchester team.

He’s previously held senior roles at McCann Connected, PushON, Return on Digital and AO.
His arrival at House comes as the agency continues its growth journey. Last year, it opened a second office, on Lloyd Street in Manchester. At the time, it said it planned to increase its headcount to more than 50 over the next 3 years.
Earlier this month, it confirmed that it had already reached the 40 employee mark – that includes senior hires from The Hut Group, Havas and Rise at Seven.
It also revealed a 43% increase in turnover for the fourth quarter of last year compared to the same period the previous year.

Rachel Birch, owner and Director of House Digital said:
“Expanding into Manchester was a significant milestone for us, and it’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of our brilliant team. We’re itching to build on this success in 2025 and beyond.”
