Louise McWatt, who has a wealth of experience in PR, brandbuilding and journalism, has joined Manchester-based Be The Best Communications.
The agency has appointed McWatt as Head of Engagement and Operations, responsible for developing its culture and processes with the goal of making them industry-leading, as well as leading its engagement with national and local government stakeholders.
McWatt joins Be The Best from Pathway Homes, having been its Head of PR. She was previously an Account Director at BIG Partnership, leading PR and stakeholder engagement for Liverpool2 and Peel Ports; and is a former BBC broadcast journalist, and a producer for France 24 TV, based in Paris.
A trustee for Chapter, a Cheshire-based mental health charity, she will work closely with the agency’s MD Chris Walker; Head of Communications, Data and Insight David Ottewell, himself a former national journalist; and Workplace Culture Lead Lorna Bithell, on the agency’s culture.
Louise said: “Chris has a clear vision of how to bring together different communications disciplines such as PR, public affairs, and data, to create more powerful stories and deliver better results for clients. I’m excited about bringing my skills and experience to Be the Best as the agency continues to grow and recruit more talent to the team.
“As a keen advocate for workplace wellbeing, I am also thrilled to be able to use my knowledge and experience to ensure that Be the Best is an employer of choice in our sector”.
Chris Walker added: “I set up Be The Best Communications to deliver better results for clients but also to create a better workplace which enables people to be their best. Having experienced significant growth over the past two years Louise is a key hire who will help us to put the right building blocks in place as we move from start-up to scale up.”
