Former Asda in-house studio chief to launch automated ad creation platform

Leeds-based Tom Howson, who previously established and managed Asda’s in-house production studio, is about to take a new automated ad creation platform, VidPlate, live via his own agency Howson Digital.

VidPlate aims to simplify the experience of creating awesome content, and make it affordable for all businesses by leveraging automation, AI, great design principles, and a ton of industry experience.

VidPlate has received support from Barclay Eagle Labs and Plexal, and was selected as one of the top 10 tech startups out of 100 that made it onto the Digital Product Builder programme in the UK.

This achievement included attending a London bootcamp on March 26 and 27, and meeting with industry experts where the platform was “really well received.” VidPlate will be back in the capital on May 1, once again demoing the platform in front of more industry experts.

The company has also been accepted onto the AD:Venture business support programme in West Yorkshire, along with access to grant funding and business support.

The VidPlate platform not only allows the creation and building of great content, but also enables teams to centrally manage it all, eliminating the need for back-and-forth emails, video calls, and freeing up time which could be more effectively used elsewhere. The platform also promises ongoing educational content on how to get the most out of VidPlate, utilising mobile devices to capture epic video, cost effective equipment and more.

VidPlate is also currently offering trial accounts and early sign-up offers for clients at the vidplate.com website.

Howson said: “We have a full product roadmap for 2024 to continually add new features and tools that help users create awesome content. This includes AI tools, improved functionality, and additional services such as 3D asset generation, complex image and video processing, and more.”
