Broadstone has announced this morning that Peter Searle has joined its board.
Searle has worked for more than 30 years in the recruitment sector. He originally joined Adecco in 1999, when it acquired the Delphi Group, where he was Group Managing Director. He became Europe and Asia Pacific CEO and was later made CEO for UK and Ireland, with additional responsibility for South Africa, India, Australia and New Zealand.
It’s a role he returned to, following 3 years as CEO of Spring Group, which was also acquired by Adecco, in 2009.
In 2015, he joined Airswift and is currently Executive Chairman of the firm.
At Broadstone, he will be a Non-Executive Director and has been brought in to help the company as it grows to take on “traditional high street staffing agencies.”
“We’re thrilled to have Peter on board. He is a seasoned recruitment professional and knows the temp industry inside out,” said Tom Pickersgill, Founder and CEO of Broadstone.
“He’s also very experienced in scaling businesses which will be crucial for us as we continue to experience rapid growth as a company, and look to expand into new geographies and new sectors. Peter’s role as a board member and an investor in Broadstone is a huge stamp of approval and his knowledge will be invaluable in helping us establish our technology focused, ‘labour-as-a-service’ approach to temporary staffing as the default in the future.”
The Manchester firm’s platform is targeted at job seekers looking for flexible temporary work opportunities.
“I’m delighted to be joining the Broadstone board,” added Searle.
“This company is really making waves in the temporary staffing world and it’s great to be involved and to join at such at an exciting time. Broadstone is changing the face of temporary recruitment and challenging the high street staffing agencies that haven’t adapted to cater to the modern workforce and its needs. They’ve already seen huge success in the security market and have big plans to expand their tech focused approach across the board. I”m looking forward to helping them on this next stage of their business journey.”
