Hatch is working with the EFL and Mind on a new campaign around World Mental Health Day.

Goals Worth Talking About saw murals appear around England and Wales, to highlight how football is often a conversation starter and the importance of talking when it comes to mental health support.

“What better way to get people talking than fantastic, memorable and game-changing goals. It’s such a strong topic and we’re delighted to be working with the EFL and Mind on this innovative project ahead of World Mental Health Day,” said Matt Peden, Director at Leeds-based Hatch.

The murals were chosen after a fan vote and there has been a week-long street art marathon, starting in Sunderland last week, working through Leeds, Preston, West Bromwich, Cardiff, Bristol and ending at Leyton Orient today.

“We are extremely proud of our charity partnership with Mind and we are pleased to have worked together on a successful campaign to highlight the challenges around mental health on World Mental Health Day,” added Melissa Fenlon, PR Manager at the EFL.

“Hatch have been pivotal in helping us to tell the story of our partnership and highlight how football is often a conversation starter, yet we struggle to talk about our mental health. It has been a great next step in our partnership as we aim to continue to encourage conversations and improve the approach to mental health in both football and in the wider society.”
