First look at Jacqueline Wilson’s The Primrose Railway Children

The BBC has released the first pictures from Jacqueline Wilson’s The Primrose Railway Children.

Filmed on location in and around Glasgow, the BBC adaptation is a modern reimagining of Wilson’s novel, which was itself inspired by E Nesbit’s classic.

The 1 x 90 minute feature length film will air over the festive period.

The new pictures show Kevin McKidd (Grey’s Anatomy, Trainspotting) and Nina Toussaint-White (Bodyguard, Witness 3) as parents Rob and Sarah Robinson, and their three children Ava McCarthy as Phoebe, Ida Brooke as Becks and Tylan Bailey as Perry.

It’s been adapted by Tom Bidwell (The Velveteen Rabbit, The Irregulars) and made by BBC Studios Kids & Family Productions for the BBC in association with BYUtv with Tali Walters as Creative Lead, Alison Davis and Grainne McNamara as Executive Producers and John McKay as producer.

“I’m so looking forward to seeing this exciting new adaptation of my book The Primrose Railway Children. It’s going to be a special treat for all the family,” said Dame Jacqueline Wilson.

It will be launched to the international market this month at MIPCOM Junior and MIPCOM in Cannes, France.
