Financielle’s female-focused fintech wins start up of the year

Financielle's founders collect their award

Manchester’s Financielle has been named as the Fintech StartUp winner at the North West Final of the StartUp Awards National Series, which took place at Manchester’s Cotton Shed last night (Tuesday July 5)

The StartUp Awards National Series debuted this year to highlight the dynamic startup scene across the country, which has particularly grown during the lockdowns of the last two years. The series has been rolled out in nine UK nations and regions, supported by blue chip brands including BT and Dell.

The awards were judged by a panel of judges which included successful entrepreneurs such as Rimi Thapar of LoveRaw, Ash Jones of Great Influence and Sebastien Vanderlinden of Yumi Nutrition.

Financielle was set up in 2018 by sisters Laura Pomfret and Holly Holland. The sisters began their Financielle journey on Instagram and have now grown the concept into a female-focused financial wellness app with a 40,000-strong global community.

Financielle shares simple money strategies that empower people to take control of their money and build strong financial foundations for their future.

Founder Holland said: “There is a strong network of Startups in Manchester and the North West of fellow founders, mentors and people who just genuinely want to see us succeed. We know women are underserved in the world of financial services [and] we are building the brand females think of when they think of money.”
