North East telecoms manufacturer Filtronic PLC has landed a contract valued at $800,000 (£600,000) with an undisclosed global provider of low latency private networks.
The London-listed firm, which is registered in County Durham and operates bases in Sedgefield and Leeds, said that revenue is expected to be recognized in FY 2024 and will require design, development and manufacture of high-performance power amplifier modules for incorporation into next generation point-to-point microwave radios.
The company added that it represents the first significant order from the new client.
Shares in Filtronic were up around three per cent on the news, hovering around 12.2p on Monday morning.
