Festicket appoints former lastminute.com CEO as new chairman

McCaig

Festicket, which bought Leeds-based Event Genius in August, has appointed former lastminute.com CEO Ian McCaig as its new Chairman, with legendary promoter Harvey Goldsmith CBE becoming Senior Advisor.

Zack Sabban, Festicket CEO & co-founder, said: “We’re so happy to welcome both Ian and Harvey to the company.  Having admired their careers from afar for some time, to be able to have them join the Festicket family at this exciting time and help accelerate us to the next level in our development is something we’re very pleased to have been able to make happen.”

McCaig joined the board of lastminute.com in 2003 and was appointed CEO in 2006 following the sale of the company to Sabre Corporation for $1.1bn. He went on to lead the development of the business for a further five years.

Goldsmith has produced, managed and promoted shows with most of the world’s major artists and was responsible for the two largest music events the world has seen: Live Aid and Live 8.

Festicket is the world’s leading festival experience platform. Its acquisition of Event Genius, which was founded in Leeds in 2008, included the consumer facing brand Ticket Arena.

The new offering, known as Event Genius by Festicket, created an “end-to-end platform for organisers and fans alike, providing the most complete offering in the live entertainment industry”.
