Everything Tech Group acquires North West architecture IT specialist

Everything Tech Group, a leading provider of expert managed IT services, has announced the acquisition of Codus, a specialist in IT and digital solutions for the architectural and construction sectors.

The deal follows a loan from NatWest, announced earlier this year, which is supporting the group with additions to its portfolio as part of its M&A growth plan.

The acquisition of Codus will build on Everything Tech Group’s strategic offering, particularly for architecture and construction firms. While the integration with Everything Tech Group will enable Codus to leverage additional resources, services and expertise, offering its clients a more complete suite of digital solutions.

Founded in 2008 by managing director Lee Hunt, Codus – which has offices in Bury and Burnley – has carved a niche in the IT industry by focusing on the unique technology needs of architectural practices. It specialises in providing tailored IT solutions that address the complex requirements of the industry, such as handling and uploading of large design files, supporting hybrid working and ensuring the robust security measures required for the safeguarding of plans for public and private buildings.

“Architects face unique challenges when it comes to adopting cloud solutions, largely due to the size and nature of their design files”, said Hunt. “Our intimate knowledge of the sector combined with our tailored IT services ensure these firms can operate securely, quickly and cost effectively, removing the time restraints traditionally associated with this type of work.

“Our partnership with Everything Tech Group enables us to offer enhanced services to our existing clients and will drive our reach across the UK.”

For Everything Tech Group, this acquisition represents a strategic opportunity to further strengthen its architectural proposition and create an even stronger foothold.

Mark Allen, founder and chief financial officer of Everything Tech Group said: “Codus’ expertise in the architectural space complements and strengthens our existing portfolio further aligning with our vision to provide leading technology and IT solutions across the UK’s largest industries.”

Codus will continue to operate under its own brand while benefiting from the expanded capabilities of Everything Tech Group. Both companies are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for clients and employees.

“We’re excited to be part of a larger technology group that shares our values and vision,” said Lee. “With Everything Tech Group’s backing, we’re set to deliver even more value to our clients and grow our offering.”

Tom Murray, Vice President of UK Financing Solutions at NatWest, said: “We are delighted to support Everything Tech Group’s ambitious growth plans. At NatWest, we are proud to champion businesses by offering financing solutions that unlock strategic growth opportunities.”

Everything Tech Group – which started life as MITSG – was founded in 2021 by Mark Allen and Phil Smith. It has grown rapidly following a series of acquisitions through a secured investment from BOOST & Co in February 2022 and went on to complete four acquisitions that year, including IT Farm, the CSS Group, cloud communications specialist, Nexbridge Communications and Everything Tech. It acquired Cardium Outsourcing Limited in 2024 with investment from NatWest.
