Shane Quigley, the founder of Epiphany, has returned to the agency in a non-executive role.

Quigley left the Leeds agency after it was acquired by Jaywing in 2014. He moved into the retail sector and was recruited by Matalan as chief customer officer.

While at the brand, he helped reshape its marketing and ecommerce strategy, this included a deal with ITV and Time Inc to create the Matalan Show on prime TV slots. Quigley was also behind its new ecommerce platform.

On leaving Matalan, he set up a boutique retail, brand and agency consultancy, Shift. It was this that put him back on Epiphany’s radar.

“Shane is a huge part of this agency’s past. The foundations he put in place enabled Epiphany to become a leader in the UK market and positioned us perfectly to integrate with Jaywing’s cutting-edge customer data, intelligence and insight,” explained Tom Salmon, managing director of Epiphany.

“Shane’s extensive client-side marketing and e-commerce experience will be invaluable as we look to the next stage of our evolution and updating our agency model. It’s fantastic to have him on board.”

In the non-executive role, he’ll act in an advisory role to deliver the company’s long-term strategy.

“When we started Epiphany we had to move quickly, embrace new ideas and hire the best people. These traits clearly remain at the heart of the business. The acquisition by Jaywing has provided access to another level of strategic insight and it is impressive to see how this has strengthened Epiphany’s client offering. I’m relishing the opportunity to re-join the agency at such an exciting time,” said Quigley.

Commenting on the appointment, Rob Shaw, Jaywing CEO, added:

“Shane has gone from strength to strength since the sale of Epiphany to Jaywing.  The experience he has gathered in retail and digital since then will be invaluable as Epiphany continues to develop its proposition and utilise the wider services available from Jaywing.  I’m looking forward to seeing him in our offices again.”

He takes up the new role next month.
