A peak of 14.1 million watched on TV and there were 2.8 million live stream requests across BBC online on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport. However, this is less than the 18.3 million peak audience for England’s opening game against Tunisia last Monday, which remains the biggest TV audience of 2018.
Captain Harry Kane scored a hat-trick as England achieved their biggest win in a major tournament.
Gareth Southgate’s men face Belgium in their final group game on Thursday, live on ITV. England have already qualified for the second round irrespective of the result.
