Steel City Interactive (SCI) has announced eight heavyweight hires to the development team of boxing title Undisputed.
The new hires bring additional experience and depth to the growing studio which released Undisputed in Early Access in January 2023. The studio has since doubled in size and now employs 72 people as it builds towards multi-platform launch of Undisputed, the first major boxing game release in over a decade.
Eight hires at The studio has also completed its move into new premises in its home city of Sheffield. The bigger space includes its own in-house motion-capture facility, essential in capturing the unique punches and movement of current and former boxing legends including Roy Jones Jr, Oleksandr Usyk and Katie Taylor.

Joining Steel City Interactive are: Tom Miles, head of studio, who brings 10 years of product and technical expertise on a wide variety of titles including the long-lasting franchises Minecraft and RuneScape to SCI; Ben Heavens, head of production, who has been leading high-performing teams in the tech and video games industry for over 17 years and joins from Unity, where he led teams that supported blockbuster titles including Apex Legends, Rocket League, Fall Guys, FIFA and Rogue Company; Dayantha Walawwatta, art director – Dayantha’s journey began as a 3D environment artist, evolving seamlessly through roles such as senior character artist, lead artist and ultimately art director for games including WWE 2K22, Forza Horizon 5, Alan Wake Remastered, Arma 3 and Day Z; Ashleigh Meale, people & culture manager; Christopher King, senior designer; Steven Dalton, senior AI programmer; Carly Drew, head of marketing;, and Neil Millstone, technical director.
Available now in Early Access, Undisputed features a roster of over 50 playable boxing greats including Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury, Canelo Alvarez, Deontay Wilder, Katie Taylor and legends Larry Holmes, Joe Frazier and Sugar Ray Leonard. Fights take place across 16 unique, atmospheric fight locations, including a large arena and Coldwell’s gym, in multiplayer, single player and Prize Fight modes. A highly anticipated Career Mode is also due to be released during Early Access.
Steel City Interactive is partnering with prestigious brands in boxing, including the World Boxing Council, the British Boxing Board of Control, Empire and many more on the game.
