Boohoo, the Manchester-based fashion retailer which is one of the North’s biggest success stories, has announced its support for next month’s Digital City Festival (March 9th – 13th), exhibiting at Digital City Expo and hosting the week’s official opening.

The global online fashion house, which in 2017 achieved a value of around £2 billion, will be exhibiting in the eCommerce Zone at the expo on March 11th and 12th, giving delegates the chance to meet and learn from them. Boohoo will also open the festival, hosting city leaders and special guests at its Dale Street location on March 9th.

Digital City Expo will be part-exhibition and part-conference, hosting exhibitors from the worlds of marketing, eCommerce, tech, media and more, along with leading speakers across eight stages. Free registration is open right now for delegates, and the agenda has recently been released online.

The exclusive launch will kick off five days of events all across Manchester, centred around the expo at Manchester Central, which will bring together the business community all under one roof to collaborate, network and hear from leading names.

Digital City Festival will also feature a range of fringe events from partner organisations including Dept, Tech Manchester, and WeWork Labs.

Jo Graham, Boohoo CIO, said: “As a pure play digital fashion brand based in the centre of this amazing city, boohoo is delighted to be part of this first digital showcase. Boohoo began its journey in the heart of Manchester’s historic textile district and from these humble beginnings has built a global business of seven highly successful brands, with millions of customers across the globe.

“With no bricks and mortar retail estate our ability to understand, connect with, inspire and delight our customers is totally reliant on our digital ‘shop front’.

“The strength of the digital industry in Manchester and its reputation as a centre of excellence has enabled us to attract some outstanding talent and it is this talent that has helped us to grow the business from very humble beginnings to one of the world’s leading online fashion retailers. We now employ over 1,000 people in our Manchester offices, supported by our colleagues from our international offices in London, Paris, Berlin and LA.

“The ambition, determination and talent within this city makes it the perfect home for forward thinking global businesses like ours and we are excited to be involved in an event that showcases what the city has to offer.”

Digital City Festival takes place between March 9th and 13th in Manchester, including not just the expo but also the Digital City Awards, and many more events focused on the celebration of digital.
