Channel 4 has revealed the new cast members joining the third series of Ackley Bridge.
Robert James-Collier (Downton Abbey) plays the new deputy head teacher, while Charlie Hardwick (Emmerdale) will be the new director of behaviour.
“I am thrilled to be asked to play the part of Martin Evershed, the new Deputy Head At Ackley Bridge. Such fearless and talented young actors bring a special spirit and energy on set and I hope I can learn from that and add to it in my own way,” said James-Collier.
The 8 x 60 minute drama has just started filming in Halifax and is produced by The Forge, in association with Screen Yorkshire.
It was created by Ayub Khan Din (East is East), Kevin Erlis (Shameless) and Malcolm Campbell (Shameless, What Richard Did).
The Channel 4 drama commissioning editor for series 3 is Manpreet Dosanjh.
