In the newly created role, Hardman will lead on technology and operational matters and report into Paul Austin, head of post production.

Hardman was previously technology director at Sumners and has also worked for Lightworks and Granada.

He said: “I could not be more proud of what I have helped The Farm achieve over the past four years within BBC North, where we have developed and managed a team of over 60 people – but the opportunity to get back to the forefront of post production in a broader role is one that I look forward to immensely.

“I am delighted to be joining several friends and former colleagues in the talented dock10 team, who are doing some amazing and innovative work at the heart of MediaCityUK.”

Paul Austin, head of post production at dock10, added: “We are delighted that Brian will be joining us at this exciting time in our development. It is imperative that we continue to offer technical and operational excellence to our clients and there is no one better than Brian to ensure that we achieve that.”

dock10 works on programmes including Match of the Day, Scott and Bailey and Happy Valley.
