Orion Ross, the Vice President for Animation at Disney will deliver the industry keynote at this year’s Manchester Animation Festival.
Ross and his UK-based team are part of the Disney Branded Television group headed by Ayo Davis. They develop and produce animated series for Disney’s global channels and platforms including Disney+.
Their focus is projects originating outside the USA and in partnership with independent studios and artists.
“I’m honoured to be invited to speak at the Animation Nation Forum, and look forward to sharing some case studies of how Disney is working in the UK now on global series and discussing the evolving opportunities for the UK’s rich and unique ecosystem of animation creators, writers, artists, studios and producers to play a leading role in making new global hits,” he explained.
The festival has also revealed that it will once again do a State of the Animation Nation roundtable discussion at The Bridgewater Hall.
Industry leaders, including Lucy Murphy (Director of Kids Content, Sky), Emma Turner (Head of Film, Animation and Future Skills, ScreenSkills), Kate O’Connor (Executive Chair, Animation UK), Courtney Arumugam (Executive Producer, The LEGO Group) and Tom Judd (Co-Founder and Executive Creative Director, Animade) will answer questions about the challenges and triumphs within the industry.
Manchester Animation Festival will run from the 12th-17th November with both in-person and online sessions.
