Stockport’s Digital ID has been acquired by AlphaCard Systems in Oregon.
The move creates the largest ID card company in the world, with 360 staff in 11 cities around the world.
“The opportunity to join forces with AlphaCard Systems, was an opportunity we couldn’t turn down. AlphaCard has an excellent reputation in the industry, an impressive team of staff and a fantastic client base,” explained Jonathan Fell, managing director of Digital ID Group.
“This acquisition enables us to rapidly evolve our growth strategy, which in part has been fuelled by the launch of our own advanced ID card design software, EasyBadge, and we’re excited to push this to the US market. The partnership will see us create around 40 new jobs, taking the business from 60 employees to 100 strong over the next three years.”
Last year the company was on track to archive a £20m turnover, following its acquisition of The Smart Card Store.
