Dept wins competitive pitch for Holland & Barrett

Dept has won a “highly competitive” pitch to handle the global transformation of Holland & Barrett’s ecommerce.

The agency had to come through a series of rounds, including a 3 day hackathon.

The first phase of the project will launch this spring, with the website being worked on over the course of the year and then rolled out across all markets.

After that, the brand will work with Dept to help it become more service-based, moving away from being purely retail product focused.

“We love working with ambitious organisations, and look forward to helping Holland & Barrett realise its digital aspirations,” said Brian Robinson, the Manchester-based Managing Director of Digital Teams at Dept.

Dept used to be known as Building Blocks. Founded in Manchester in 2007, it became the first transatlantic agency to be acquired by Dept in 2016. It rebranded in May last year.

“It is an exciting time at Holland & Barrett as we focus on growing our digital capabilities. Having a partner like Dept on board will help us drive these plans forward,” said Matt Poole, Director of Digital Delivery at Holland & Barrett.
