Former Coronation Street star Denise Welch is to join the cast of Hollyoaks.
Welch is to play Nikki Sanderson’s on-screen mum Trish in the Lime Pictures-produced soap and will make her first appearance on-screen in January.
Of the new role, Welch said: “I am thrilled to be joining the cast of Hollyoaks in this, their 25th year.
“I’m looking forward to working with some old friends and making new ones. The character of Trish Minniver is an actor’s dream and I can’t wait to introduce her to you.”
Welch has also starred in Soldier Soldier, Waterloo Road and Benidorm, and has been a panellist on ITV’s Loose Women for 18 years.
