Gemma Taylor, Delivery App COO

Manchester-based DeliveryApp, the disruptive logistics tech company, is targeting growth in the lucrative same-day delivery market with plans to bring 100+ new tech, creative and digital jobs to the North West.

The company hopes to increase its headcount by at least 50 by the end of this year, with a further 50+ planned by the end of 2024.

DeliveryApp says it was was created to solve long-standing problems that exist in the logistics industry. Combining technology with a strong focus on ethical driver treatment and a more transparent customer experience, DeliveryApp connects couriers and customers,  providing delivery information at their fingertips while focussing on ethical driver treatment in the delivery sector.

The firm says it already has a nationwide network of over 16,000 registered self-employed drivers and is a champion of inclusive recruitment policies celebrating individuality and diversity in the workplace.

Gemma Taylor, DeliveryApp COO, said: “We are now on the hunt for the best digital and tech talent in the UK to add to our already amazing team. The North West is a fantastic hub of talent and creativity, we are looking to tap into this and add to all areas of our business from developers, digital marketing staff, operations and sales.”

“We are proactively looking for the best talent in the UK to build upon the already innovative team we have. Some of the biggest employers in the UK have had to make some extremely difficult decisions and it has freed up some amazing talent that we want to give a home to at DeliveryApp.”

Taylor added that, operating across two sectors that are traditionally heavily male-dominated and citing research that suggests only 26 per cent of tech employees and 19 per cent of logistics workers are female, she’s on a mission to embrace this year’s International Women’s Day theme of #EmbraceEquity.

“At DeliveryApp we strive towards inclusivity and bolstering gender parity in the industry,” she said. “Women, as well as other underrepresented groups, bring a diverse skill set and experience to the workforce. We hope our recruitment drive will be a great opportunity to bring more diversity and create a culture of inclusivity into the logistics industry.”

DeliveryApp reported an average of 10 employees for the period from January 31 to December 31, 2021, the most recent period for which its accounts are currently available at Companies House.

More recent additions to the team include operations director Phil Woodbridge who was appointed last month, at which point DeliveryApp CEO Lance Jones spoke of plans to “catapult DeliveryApp into our next stage of growth.”

Jobs currently advertised on DeliveryApp’s website include social media manager, CRM and email marketing manager and Flutter developer.
