Daily Mail reporter Laura Lambert has been appointed as a Sports News Correspondent by the BBC, Prolific North understands.
Lambert has been with the Mail for four years, initially joining as a trainee in 2015 before being promoted to TV and radio reporter and then to her current role of sports news reporter last April. Prior to that she worked for the official Wimbledon website as a picture editor and feature writer.
At the BBC she replaces Richard Conway, who left earlier in the year to set up his own communications firm. BBC Sport are also in the process of recruiting a football reporter to replace David Ornstein, who joined subscription sports site The Athletic this month.
