Cyber Attack sees Marks & Spencer pause online orders

Marks & Spencers says that it’s pausing orders from its websites and apps in response to a “cyber incident.”

“As part of our proactive management of a cyber incident, we have made the decision to pause taking orders via our M&S.com websites and apps,” the retailer said in a statement.

“Our product range remains available to browse online. We are truly sorry for this inconvenience.”

Earlier this week it stopped processing contactless payments and paused the Click & Collect orders in store.

It had also made the “proactive decision” to move some of its processes offline “to protect our colleagues, partners, suppliers and our business.”

Today it reiterated that there was no need for customers to take any action “and if the situation changes we will let them know.”
