£150,000 worth of props used in Netflix drama, The Crown, have been stolen in Doncaster.

The items included a replica of a Fabergé egg, jewellery, candelabras and a domed birdcage.

South Yorkshire police said 3 vehicles were broken into and a “number of items taken.”

“Officers investigated the incident but all existing lines of enquiry have now been exhausted. The case has been filed pending any new lines of enquiry.”

A Netflix spokesperson added that they hoped the items would be “found and returned safely.”

“Replacements will be sourced, there is no expectation that filming will be held up.”

The drama is currently in its 5th series, with Imelda Staunton taking on the role of the Queen.
