Creative Spark’s Little Printshop of Horrors will return for two weeks only, from October 16, benefiting Humans MCR.
Now in its 12th year, the annual event promises to thrill horror enthusiasts and art aficionados alike. The virtual doors of the Little Printshop of Horrors will creak open on October 16, offering a spine-chilling selection of limited edition A3 or A2-sized, horror-themed prints for a two-week period.
Previous themes, such as Twisted Disney, Classic Hitchcock, and 666, have captivated audiences and raised tens of thousands of pounds for local charities.
This year, due to its runaway success previously, the theme Netflix & Kill makes a comeback. The unique and collectible Netflix-inspired posters will be available exclusively for purchase from October 16.
Also, by popular demand, poster designs from previous years are making a comeback too, unlike some much-loved Netflix shows we could think of, with Creative Spark hosting a competition via Instagram to decide which past posters will get a reboot and be made available for sale once again – one lucky winner will also receive a copy of the poster they voted for.
The annual event doesn’t just raise much-needed funds for local charity, Humans MCR, but also serves as a platform to showcase top and emerging illustration and print talent, both within Creative Spark and the wider creative industry.
Teams within the Creative Spark studio compete to create the poster that generates the highest charitable donations, with cinema tickets and popcorn at stake, ensuring fierce competition and unparalleled creativity.
This year, Creative Spark’s internal teams will be joined by acclaimed collaborators, including asmithillustration.com, ahoy.co.uk, @coolbreedstudio, pat-thomas.co.uk, @studio.antigravity, and Mrwoodywoods.myportfolio.com, each adding their unique and terrifying twist to their Netflix-inspired selections. All posters will be printed by Blueprint Creative Media at cost in support of this well deserving charity.
Neil Marra, founder of Creative Spark, said: “We love using our design skills to create fresh versions of classic horror film posters. It has been a very successful project, and this year we are selling the best of the best to create even more vital donations for a charity that means so much to us all. What started as a bit of fun has turned into a remarkable way to support our local community and push creative boundaries.”
Lewey Hellewell, founder of Humans MCR, added: “Humans MCR are delighted to be chosen by the innovative team at Creative Spark as their charity partner for the Little Printshop of Horrors project. This collaboration embodies unity, creativity, and a commitment to championing positive change within our communities. The project is as unique as it is spirited and proves that a fusion of art and empathy can foster a brighter future.
“The funds raised will be instrumental in fuelling our mission at Humans MCR to eradicate generational food poverty in Greater Manchester. Together, we are creating art, hope, resilience, and shared prosperity.”
The Little Printshop of Horrors limited editions start at £40, with 100% of the profit going to support Humans MCR.
