Manchester branding agency Creative Spark has today launched the brand identity for Ibiza mainstay Cafe Del Mar’s new spirits range, including gin and vodka.

The iconic venue, globally renowned for its spectacular sunsets, has launched a new range of gin and vodka that claims to “capture the spirit of Ibiza.” The Spark team worked with illustrator Daren Newman to create a brand as special as the bar.

The brand identity is inspired by a number of elements unique to the bar’s coastline location and the design of the venue. Daren incorporates the dream-like interior design of Cafe Del Mar, that was created by Lluis Guell during the 1980s, Sol the sun goddess – synonymous with the venue – the unique air purifying, oxygen producing, Mediterranean seagrass meadows Posidonia Oceanica, plus the official Ibizian animal, the gecko.

Many square miles of Posidonia Oceanica have been destroyed by shipping and pollution, so every purchase of a bottle of Cafe Del Mar will support Ibiza Preservation who educate, raise awareness and actively work to preserve this World Heritage site.

Creative Spark founder and creative director Neil Marra said: “This was a bucket list project for me. I have visited Cafe Del Mar for over 15 years and to work on their own spirits’ brand identity was a dream come true. We placed the world famous sunset in the heart of the identity and by working with Daren Newman, we weaved the unique environmental elements of Ibiza into the Cafe Del Mar bottle design. We hope the brand identity of Cafe Del Mar will evoke nostalgia of good times on the White Isle.”

Cafe Del Mar’s Alun Roselaar added: “The team at Creative Spark have created a beautiful brand identity for our first spirit range. We love how the design uniquely incorporates our natural environment and allows us to raise awareness of the perils that our oceans are facing. We have enjoyed the sunsets at Cafe Del Mar for decades and now with this beautiful bottle everyone can enjoy it from their own home.”
