Cornerhouse Manchester has teamed up with SPACE London to release a new study exploring the impact that the internet has had on contemporary artistic practices.
You Are Here: Art After the Internet has been edited by Omar Kholeif, a writer, who’s a curator at both the Whitechapel Gallery in London and the Cornerhouse.
The work features 22 internet artists, writers and fellow curators, who respond to the changes through essays, criticism and images.
“I believe that this project will be a critical reference point for anyone interested in the relationship between contemporary art and the internet for years to come,” he explained.
“I have attempted to assemble as broad a spectrum of views from some of the most exciting artists, writers and curators working in the field. The publication is epic in its scope and ambition and seeks to function as a provocation about the way our relationship to art is changing in the twenty first century.”
Among the contributors are lacerating video artist, Jennifer Chan; Brad Troemel from the Jogging Collective; James Bridlel and “internet artist” Constant Dullaart.
The book is published on Monday 14th April.
