Merseyside-based tea maker Typhoo has appointed Jeremy Coles as its new marketing director.
Coles joins from Dairy Crest, where he had been interim head of marketing in its butters, spreads and margarines department.
Before that he had a short spell as marketing director at Digicel in Jamaica and five years as marketing director of John West Foods, where he launched the successful No Drain Tuna campaign.
He’s also held a number of marketing roles within Heinz and Unilever.
Typhoo, which employs around 265 people at its factory in Moreton, is hoping that its results later this year will continue the recovery it has shown in recent years.
In the year to March 2012, the company increased sales by 6.2% to £75m. It also recorded a pre-tax loss of £2.2m, but that was an improvement on £7.7m in 2011.
As part of a £3m marketing campaign fronted by broadcaster Ben Fogle and wife Marina, a new series of TV adverts will begin next month.
