Claire House Hospice makes TV debut with Zut

Zut Media has created a television advert to promote its long-time charity partner, Claire House Hospice.

The Liverpool agency donated its services to devise the fundraising appeal, that went live earlier this week.

It worked with parents, families and carers to produce the content as well as redesigning and animating its Claire Bear mascot.

The campaign will run on television, online and radio.

“We’re really proud to enjoy such a great relationship with Claire House and over the years we’ve always been happy to support them in any way we can, offering our creative and production skills,” said Mark Hancock, Zút Media’s Managing Director and co-owner.

“The work they do supporting families is invaluable and we wanted to bring those voices and experiences centre stage and to use TV to aim high and reach as many people as possible.

“We wanted to build on the work we’d done for them in the past and go even bigger, and television felt like the platform we needed. Their ‘Claire Bear’ mascot is instantly recognisable so we thought re-designing and animating her for new audiences, making her a character in a magical story book to guide viewers through the hospice and meet families, would be another great way to showcase the amazing work their teams do.

“Our team loved working on this campaign – we hope it prompts people to find out more about the ways Claire House can help people across the region and to dig deep to support them in any way they can.”

The charity helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full from their hospice site in Bebington and their new operation in West Derby.

“We wanted to find a way to speak to audiences about the work we do – and the many ways we support young people and their families – and the Zút team has captured that perfectly,” added Claire House Hospice, Head of Fundraising, Clair Bedford.

“Hearing directly from parents and carers, about the difference that respite and expert care can make to their lives, is really powerful. Being given the chance to do that via a TV campaign is something we’d only ever dreamed of. A TV appeal is a massive deal for us – it’s such a milestone – but it would have been completely out of reach without Zút being so generous with their time and continuing to provide their services for free.

“Christmas is such a special time and we’re lucky to enjoy such loyal support from our community. With the help of Zút we hope this year’s appeal will provide us with the funds we need, so we can carry on always being there when people need us most.”
