Citypress has won a competitive pitch to handle the corporate PR for Aldi.
It’s a major win for the Manchester agency, particularly as Weber Shandwick is understood to have repitched for the contract. The London firm has held the account since 2008 and remains Aldi’s retained consumer PR and social media agency.
“Aldi works with a number of PR agencies and regularly reviews the services we receive from external organisations,” said an Aldi spokesperson.
“Weber Shandwick remains a key part of our 2015 roster of agencies.”
Citypress will officially start on the contract next week.
It’s been a good year so far for the agency, which has won new work from Manchester Airport Group, Swinton and British Land.
The firm now has 70 staff across its offices in London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol and headquarters in Manchester.
