Meanwhile has created the new summer campaign for Chester Zoo.
Inspired by the camera rolls of their visitors, the “lo-fi” films have been produced by Magna Studios and directed by Phoebe Arnstein, who’s previously worked on Center Parcs and British Airways commercials.
“Meanwhile have created a beautiful and inspiring campaign that allows us to present unique wildlife experiences around discovery, wonder and connection for a whole range of people from a child’s first giraffe sighting to a couple’s date day, to a multi-generational family reunion,” said Helen Dean, Head of Marketing at Chester Zoo.
“‘One zoo, endless adventures’ has allowed us to look at our zoo from all these different visitor perspectives, providing diversity, relevance and connection – ultimately showcasing that Chester Zoo is a place for everyone.”
The creative will extend into out of home, with executions designed to feel like the viewer is looking at someone’s personal camera roll on their phone.
“With this work we’re changing perceptions of the zoo for visitors by shining a light on the endless rich, varied and personal experiences you can have compared to other attractions,” added Michael Tsim, Creative Director at Meanwhile.
“This fresh campaign will do important work to drive visitor numbers, which ultimately enables the zoo to continue with the incredible conservation work that each visit makes possible.”
