Merge Games in Knutsford is marking its 10th anniversary with a $4m warchest to fund indie games and marketing.
The company, which releases games on PC, consoles and streaming services says the fund is part of a global push for “quality content.”
“It has always been fresh ideas that have made the video games business thrive and that’s why we are investing in new talent around the world with this fund,” explained Merge CEO, Luke Keighran.
“We have consistently championed games that look and feel different but deliver on innovation, quality and fun, it’s part of the passion that drives us. But it’s a difficult time for independent game developers and we want to be a destination for those developers that need funding plus all the support that a world class publisher can provide,” he continued.
Keighran said that they will be looking for “high quality, multi-platform, games that deliver new experiences to the market.”
The announcement comes ahead of the release of new games Sparklite, Stranded Sails and Buildings Have Feelings Too.
