BBC Radio Manchester has confirmed that Chelsea Norris will be its new Drive Time presenter.
Starting at the end of next month, she will take over from Andy Crane, who’s been hosting the show temporarily since Sam Walker departed.
“Sam Walker who previously presented the Drive Time show was a friend of mine. I know I have big shoes to fill. But I’m really excited at a new opportunity on the radio in Manchester and I can’t wait to get started,” she said.
“Having been on commercial radio in the city for the last 15 years, I’m very excited to be joining the hugely respected BBC. The team at Radio Manchester are great and I can’t wait to get stuck in to my new Drive show.”
Norris joined BBC Radio Manchester in September, after 11 years at Key 103.
“Chelsea has already been a massive hit with our listeners and will be brilliant on Drive Time. She’s full of life and fun stories and is so down to earth. She is a perfect fit for our station and our audiences,” added BBC Radio Manchester editor Kate Squire.
The new show starts on Monday February 27.
