Chaophraya win for Leeds agency

Prohibition PR is working with Thai Leisure Group to mark the 20th anniversary of its Chaophraya brand.

The Thai restaurant has locations in Leeds, Newcastle, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Glasgow and the Leeds agency has been briefed to “reintroduce Chaophraya to the public.”

The creative PR and brand activations will focus on its enduring appeal, while also driving footfall and sales.

“We’re really excited to be working with Prohibition PR to celebrate Chaophraya’s 20th anniversary,” said Hannah Duczenko, Thai Leisure Group Marketing Director.

“With our first restaurant opening in Leeds, it’s great to be working with a local agency who understands our market and our brand. We’ll be celebrating through competitions, exclusive dishes and drinks, as well some creative activations to promote the significant milestone.”

As well as consumer-orientated PR, such as limited edition tasting experiences, menu innovation and one-off events; Prohibition will also deliver a programme of trade and business-focused executive profiling, focusing on Managing Director Ian Leigh, and founder Khun Kim. This is to position the Group as “ready for further growth and investment.”

“Food, drink and hospitality is an increasing specialism for our agency, and as such, we’re excited to be working with Thai Leisure Group,” said Will Ockenden, Director of Prohibition PR.

“In such a competitive market, you don’t get to be 20 years old by accident, and that’s a result of the brand doing everything right, for a long time, from service to food, and everything in-between. As ever, we’re going to have a bit of fun with this brief, so watch out for some big, creative brand activations.”

Thai Leisure Group owns 16 restaurants across the UK under 2 brands: Chaophraya and Thaikun. Its Chaophraya Glasgow site Europe’s largest Thai restaurant.
