Label1 is to produce a new fixed-rig format for Channel 4, following the job interview process.
The Job Interview (working title), will follow real-life interviewees looking for genuine jobs and hopes to reveal the “terror and triumph” of trying to get a job.
“This series takes us right into the heart of one of Britain’s last ‘secret spaces’ – the interview room. It’s simple and authentic: just real candidates battling it out against each other in pursuit of real jobs, filmed in microscopic detail to capture every nuance,” explained Lorraine Charker-Phillips, co-creator and executive producer.
Label1 is a new off-shoot of ITV Studios’ Shiver and is headed up by Charker-Phillips and former Dragonfly boss, Simon Dickson:
“Lorraine and I are delighted to be off the mark with a neat and naturally dramatic format that speaks to our penchant for intelligent mainstream television that’s ‘smart with heart,” he said.
The series was commissioned by Madonna Benjamin and Alisa Pomeroy at Channel 4.
