Changes at the top for Carousel

Carousel has appointed Tom Cummings to the position of deputy managing director, with Rebecca Barnes moving into a senior board director role and Chloe Sharp progressing to director of social media.

Cummings, who has been with the agency for two years, progresses from his role as Carousel’s first ever director of strategy, in which he led on the development of client, agency, and new business strategy.

Playing a vital role in steering the daily operations as well as the future strategy of the agency, Cummings will also continue to oversee significant accounts such as People’s Postcode Lottery, as well as the agency’s international comms offering across UK, US, LATAM and Australia for Wrexham Lager and global tech business Teletrac Navman.

Barnes moves from deputy MD to senior board director in recognition of her longstanding service to the agency, which spans over 12 years. She will continue to oversee MGA Entertainment as well as drive new business efforts.

After five years at Carousel, Sharp has been promoted to director of social media, tasked with developing and overseeing the future growth strategy of the agency’s award-winning social media department.

Meanwhile, Sarah Spencer has been promoted to senior account director after a strong period overseeing and growing key agency clients, including Cotton Traders and the Beam product portfolio.

Amanda Wolstenholme joins as the agency’s new financial director and Emma Pearce has also rejoined Carousel as account director after a stint in-house as global PR manager at Pukka Teas.

Anna Georgieva has been promoted to senior account manager, with Lizzie Agar also joining the agency as senior account manager.

The promotions and hires come on the back of multiple new and retained client and project wins, including Boxpark, Printworks, Senses Whiskey, Wrexham Lager, EasiYo and Spotlight Oral Care.

Gawen Higgins, joint managing director at Carousel, said: “We’re really pleased for Tom, Rebecca, and Chloe. They have all contributed immensely to the growth and direction of the agency across their respective tenures.

“We’re in one of our most exciting periods of development to date, with more than 20 new clients joining us in the past 18 months, long-standing clients continuing to see value in our partnerships, as well as new services being offered, and we’re excited with how this new management structure will take us forward.

“We’re also proud to welcome home, welcome in, and say well done to the wider team who have joined and developed in their roles – it’s an invigorating time for the agency.”
